What is Difference Between MRI & CT Scan?

Both CT Scan & MRI are supposed to capture images of Blood, tissues, organs & vessels. CT scan stands for Computed tomography while MRI stands for magnetic resonance imaging. MRI & CT scans are very useful in diagnosing a wide range of health conditions.

Differences:

MRI uses Radio Waves while CT scan uses X-rays to scan images of the body's internal organs. Both MRI and CT scans are used to function similarly but the imaging of the body's internal organs are in different ways.

CT scan term is most commonly known but also less expensive as compared to MRI because it captures detailed images.

CT scans study time is approx between 2 to 10 minutes, while MRI study time is approx 10 to 30 minutes.
